Night Play Review

This week’s book is the fifth installment of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s dark-hunter series. Instead of focusing on the many dark-hunters in this fantasy world, this book features Vane who is essentially a werewolf. This book was a lot more lighthearted than the other dark-hunter novels (if homicidal and abusive parents count as lighthearted). By comparison there is less external drama for the characters and the story mostly focuses on the hero and heroine.

As always Kenyon’s characters and story are great. My one complaint is that Ash (the immortal and hella powerful leader of the dark-hunters) was an awfully convenient plot device and did a lot of easy problem solving. It was very deus ex Acheron. Other than that I enjoyed the book thoroughly.
