The Lady Travelers Guide to Scoundrels and Other Gentlemen review

The Lady Travelers Guide to Scoundrels and Other Gentlemen is a historical romance by Victoria Alexander set in Victorian London and Paris.

Summary: India Pendergast’s cousin (and only family) joins The Lady Traveler’s Society in London and goes missing on a trip the society set up. India is convinced the society is fraudulent and responsible for losing her cousin. She does not have any desire to travel or leave her perfectly comfortable life in London, but decides to follow her cousin ensure her safety and bring her home.

Derek Saunders is the nephew of Guinevere Blodgett (founder of the Lady Traveler’s society). He goes to Paris to find India’s cousin with her. The two share many misadventures in the city of lights and eventually learn to tolerate each other. This grows into a beautiful and passionate love.

My thoughts: I loved this book. The setting is fantastic– Paris during the world’s fair. Of course there was a ball, which is always fun to read and fantasize about. Victoria Alexander is going to continue the Lady Traveler’s Guide as a series and I am very excited for the next book.
