Fifty Shades of Grey Review

Fifty Shades Darker hit the theaters last month and I loved it! So I decided to review the trilogy (books only).  (Spoilers)

Fifty Shades of Grey: The book starts with plain Ana Steele interviewing Christian Grey for a friend. This quickly develops into a relationship dominated by rules and kinky sex. In the end, Ana decides that Christian is too intense and leaves. My thoughts: Overall, This was a great story, albeit poorly written. Fifty Shades of Grey is what can be described as a naughty Cinderella story. In this book, I saw  many of the Twilight parallels, as  E.L. James’ bestseller was originally Twilight fan-fiction. First, Ana’s mom is absent and lives in the south. Second, both Ana and Bella are described as pale with dark hair and plain features. Lastly, the dark and elusive hero has an obsession with the heroine and her safety.  You can buy E.L James’s first installment of the trilogy here: Fifty Shades of Grey.
